Open Week at The Neighbourhood
Sunday 2nd November – A Day of Worship, Wellness & Community
This year’s Open Week (27th October – 2nd November) is a special time for our Manly Uniting Church communityto come together in celebration of connection, generosity, and shared faith.
Throughout the week, The Upper Room and Neighbourhood spaces will be alive with activity — from wellness workshops and boxing socials to music, coffee, and opportunities to support The Zimbabwe Well Project. But at the heart of the week is Sunday, where we gather for worship, reflection, and fellowship.
Morning Worship Service
Sunday 2nd November – Morning
We invite you, your family, and friends to join us for a special Sunday Service at Manly Uniting Church. It will be a time to pause, give thanks, and reflect on the week of community we’ve shared. Together, we’ll lift up prayers for our neighbours both near and far, including the communities supported by the Zimbabwe Well Project.
Yoga, Mindfulness & Breathing Workshop
8:30 – 9:00 AM | Led by Carly Boaler
Before the service begins, you’re warmly invited to take part in a gentle, centring session of yoga, breathing, and mindfulness. Held in the quiet of the morning, this 30-minute practice is open to everyone and offered by donation, with all proceeds going toward the Zimbabwe Well Project.
This is a beautiful way to arrive in body, mind, and spirit before entering worship.
Community BBQ After Church
After the service, stay and share in a relaxed BBQ lunch together. This will be a donation-based meal, with funds supporting the Zimbabwe Well Project. It’s a chance to gather in fellowship, meet new faces, and celebrate the generosity and community spirit that define Manly Uniting Church.
Giving Back: The Zimbabwe Well Project
Throughout Open Week, all donations raised — from coffee sales to wellness workshops — will go directly toward building wells and providing access to clean, life-giving water in communities in Zimbabwe.
We encourage everyone to get involved. You’ll find a QR code in the Open Week brochure to make giving easy.
Other Open Week Highlights
While Sunday is the heart of the week, there’s plenty happening in the lead-up:
Bring a Friend Week – Boxing Sessions: Free for friends or by donation to the Zimbabwe Well Project (book with Stevie).
Wellness Day – Saturday 1st November: Live music from 11:00 AM, coffee cart donations, and a Boxing BBQ Social.
Free Wellness Workshops: Breathwork, yoga, meditation, and more, running throughout the week. All sessions are donation-based.
Wine & Cheese Night (Wednesday 29th October): A members-only evening for Upper Room community members.
An Invitation to All
Open Week is a time to open our doors and hearts to the wider community. Whether you join us for worship, a yoga class, a cup of coffee, or simply come to say hello, you are part of this story.
Let’s come together as a church family, celebrate the gift of community, and extend our love and generosity to those who need it most.

It’s a heartfelt expression of the spirit that unites everyone in our space. Whether you’re a long-time member or new to our church, we welcome you to this evening of worship, reflection, and joyful music as we celebrate the wonder of Christmas together.

Lifeline Classic
Support for the Annual Lifeline Surf Competition!
We are proud to stand behind the Annual Lifeline Surf Competition, supporting a critical cause for mental health in our community.
Last year, our team—NBRHD LEGENDS, representing Manly Uniting Church—raised an incredible $4,485, just shy of our $5,000 goal. We’re proud of this achievement and ready to rally again this year.
For anyone in need of support, Lifeline is always available. Call 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14. You can also find local resources at www.lifelinenb.org.au.
Lifeline Surf Classic 2023
Manly Uniting Church is once again helping to raise money for our Lifeline Northern Beaches by supporting the Lifeline Surf Classic 2023 event this year. We are drawing together a team of surfers and fundraisers from our church, missional enterprises (NBRDH Boxing and Upper Room) and beyond.
As I'm sure you know, Lifeline provides essential telephone and counselling services to many people who feel that they have nowhere else to turn. You may not be aware that Lifeline Northern Beaches operates out of offices in Balgowlah x 365 days per year, and every dollar raised keeps this essential operation running to provide crisis support and suicide prevention services. Our Uniting Church and members have a long and established history with Lifeline NB, and we contributed to this event for several years now (and even one the comp one year!).
We have set ourselves an ambitious goal to raise $5,000 by October 14th! Any donation you may be in a position to support us with will go a long way to help us reach our goal - and more importantly, help people in real need.
You can donate to our NBRHD team via this link: NBRHD Legends fundraising in support of 2023 Lifeline Classic (lifelinenb.org.au)
Please feel free to drop down to the competition at Queenscliff on October 14, say hi to our team and help cheer them on.
If you have any questions, just ask our Minister, Rev. John.
